Position Report
Bill SB434 supporting the vehicle registration
has been tabled until further notice. You can still write letters to support
our cause to your State representatives.
Below are group
viewpoints from the Pine Nut Mountains Trails Association (PNMTA.org).
Based on our meetings and feedback.
We support only
the DMV Titling provision in this Bill.
Other points:
-
They used to title OHV's until 2005
-
There should be no fiscal impact…
-
The DMV testified that OHV VIN's are not compatible but they use those
numbers when these vehicles are made street legal
-
OHV
use in Nevada brings in HUNDREDS of millions of dollars to the States
economy, Sand Mountain brings in close to $7 Million a year.
-
No bank will give a loan on a used OHV without a legal title.
-
The Anti Access groups opposing the bill have implied in testimony they
do not want any OHV use other than agricultural except in OHV parks
-
We are just asking for the DMV to continue doing what they had done for
so many years.
-
We are not vandals as we have been portrayed by the anti access
organizations.
-
The average user is in their 40's and goes out with their families and
cannot always afford to pay cash for a bike
-
We have no recourse in the event our OHV is stolen or to know if we are
buying stolen property.
